Morton Grove is a village in Cook County, Illinois, incorporated on December 24, 1895. The village was named after Vice President Levi Parsons Morton, who financed the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad.
The village's early economy centered on lumber and agriculture, and in the early 1900s the area became known for greenhouses and floriculture. The Poehlman Brothers' floral business won first place for one of its roses at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. The Morton Grove station provides Metra commuter rail service on the Milwaukee District North Line, connecting to Chicago Union Station and Fox Lake station.
