Antioch is a village in Lake County, Illinois, located approximately 60 miles north of Chicago and 50 miles south of Milwaukee. The village borders Wisconsin and sits within the Chain O'Lakes waterway system. Settlers arrived in the 1830s, and the name 'Antioch' was given in 1843; the region was initially called 'Sequoit,' meaning 'winding,' after a local creek.
