Wadsworth is a village in Lake County, Illinois. The village is named after E. S. Wadsworth, a major stockholder of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad, which operates through the area. The 2020 census recorded a population of 3,517. Wadsworth covers 9.93 square miles.
Notable Wadsworth landmarks include Tempel Farms — home to a herd of Lipizzan horses — and the distinctive 'pyramid house,' a structure containing what has been described as the largest 24-karat gold-plated object ever created, with replicas of Egyptian monuments and a 64-foot statue of Ramesses II.
